Policy Statement

Meals for resident students are included in the required room and board fee. Non-boarding students must pay for each meal and/or beverage taken, regardless of the size of the meal. There are no exceptions.

Policy Procedures

  1. Fees for room and board may not be separated.
  2. There is no reduction in the board fee for meals not taken.
  3. Food and beverages served by the cafeteria are available at meal time only. In order to avoid wasting food, students should take only those portions of food that can be eaten.
  4. If students have special dietary requirements, they should provide a note from a doctor explaining the dietary requirements.
  5. Bag lunches are provided to resident students who must miss a meal because of work.
  6. Students who miss a meal due to illness must notify their RA who will then bring their meal to them.
  7. Cafeteria property is not to be taken out of the cafeteria for any reason. No food items other than ice cream cones and take-out meals are to be taken from the cafeteria to be eaten later. Misconduct in the cafeteria will result in discipline referral.
  8. Only those students on duty in the cafeteria are allowed in the kitchen or behind the serving line.

Failure to follow this policy may lead to disciplinary action.
