Policy Statement

Students must refrain from watching or attending movies with R, NC-17 or X ratings. Video games with ratings of “A” and “RP” may not be used by students. Additionally, “M” rated games should be avoided if they have descriptors indicating any sexual content, alcohol/drug content, and/or profane language.

Policy Procedures

TVs are provided in common areas on campus. No matter the rating, students should avoid any media (computer or video games, movies, literature, etc.) that is characterized by nudity, sexual themes, profane language, or excessive violence. If a student believes that a movie could be an exception to this rule for its historical or biblical value, he/she may petition Student Services for permission to view this media. To evaluate movies in advance consider using a web site such as www.screenit.com or www.pluggedinonline.com.

Failure to follow this policy may lead to disciplinary action.
