Beyer, Dr. Bryan
Dr. Beyer's joined Carolina University as an adjunct faculty in the fall of 2021. Dr. Beyer has been teaching Bible courses since 1985. He started his career at Columbia International University in Columbia, SC, and still serves there today. He has served as undergraduate academic dean from 1994-2001; Dean of students from 2001 - 2004; faculty member in the Seminary; School of Ministry from 2004-2011, Dean of the College of Arts; Sciences from 2011-2020; and undergraduate professor of Bible professor 2020-2021, before becoming professor emeritus July 1, 2021.
Since 1997, Dr. Beyer has served as Chair of the Associated Schools for Jerusalem University College and, since 2003, as General Bible/Old Testament Book Review Editor for the Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS). He has served as a faculty advisor to the International Students Ministries at CIU and regularly takes students to Israel on summer study tours. His overseas ministry has included teaching at Portantorchas Bible School in Costa Rica, at the Center for Christian Leadership in Tirana, Albania, CIU's branch campus in Korntal, Germany, and Israel study tours for church groups.
Dr. Beyer has also been an instructor at Denver Seminary 1978-80; pastor of Jonahs Run Baptist Church in Harveysburg, Ohio, 1984-85; undergraduate Bible faculty at Columbia International University, 1985-94; and visiting Old Testament faculty member at Denver Seminary, summer 1987.
Dr. Beyer enjoys time with his family, teaching, writing, and the outdoors.
