Policy Statement

Eligible for financial aid is based on both federal and Institutional compliance regulations. The catalog is the guide for institutional aid. The Code of Federal Regulations will show federal compliance issues.

Policy Procedures

For both federal and institutional aid, a student must be enrolled in a degree-seeking program meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.=

Some Carolina University scholarships have additional regulations such as minimum GPA requirements, or degree requirements.

Pell grants require the student be eligible for federal aid:

  • completed a FAFSA and cleared all eligibility flags
  • Not exceeded any lifetime limits
  • undergrad program and degree-seeking

Federal Loans

  • completed a FAFSA and cleared all eligibility flags
  • Not exceeded any lifetime limits
  • undergrad program and degree-seeking

Graduate and Doctoral students must be degree-seeking except for the Employee Education Grant. That one grant will allow a fullt-ime benefited employee of CU to take a course without enrolling in a specific degree program.
