Full-Time Business Faculty – Lecturer and Assistant Professors

The Patterson School of Business at Carolina University is currently seeking dynamic and dedicated individuals to join our esteemed faculty. We are inviting applications for Lecturer and Assistant Professor positions, with multiple full-time opportunities available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The anticipated start dates for successful candidates are June 1, 2024, August 1, 2024, and January 1, 2025. 

Ideal candidates for these positions will possess a passion and commitment to student success, teaching, and academic excellence. Preference will be given to applicants who bring practitioner experience in the field of business and exhibit potential for cultivating community and business partnerships.

Job Duties 

The successful candidate will teach courses in hybrid and online modalities. This is a 12-month position. The teaching load is 8 classes per academic year. CU teaches on a 7-week session schedule with two sessions per semester and 3 semesters per academic year. Faculty also advise and mentor students, hold office hours, provide service to the program, and fulfill other university responsibilities as assigned. 

The ideal candidate will develop and deliver innovative and engaging course content while providing mentorship and guidance to students to support their academic and professional growth. Candidates must be aligned with the university’s Christ-Centered mission. 

  • Undergraduate disciplines include Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Ethics, Marketing, Esports, and Sports Management. 
  • Graduate disciplines include Sustainability, Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Ethics, Marketing, Leadership, Organizational Management, Business Law, and Human Resource Management. 

Qualifications 

Assistant Professor: Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field from an accredited institution (ABD may be considered). 

Lecturer: A master’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution 

Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, Ethics, Marketing, Esports, Sports Management, Sustainability, Organizational Management, or Human Resource Management. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience teaching in higher education at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to the academic community. 

Degrees must be conferred prior to the start date. If the highest degree is from an institution outside of the U.S., candidates are required to have their degree verified at www.wes.org and submitted to HR before the start date.

Salary: 

  • Lecturer: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year 
  • Assistant Professor: $65,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
