About

Tim White was born in Tennessee but grew up in North Carolina. He attended church his entire life because he had no choice. His mother used to say, “Every time the hinges of the church doors squeak, we are going to be there.” Today people claim they love Jesus but not the church.

Tim White was saved at church at the age of 18. He attended Carolina University from 1973-78. His last two years at Piedmont, he pastored Hope Chapel Baptist Church. In his senior year, Tim won the Lehman Strauss Expository Preaching Award. Tim has pastored over 20 years, preached revivals, and also participated in Missions Conferences. He started a new church plant in Archdale, NC in 2013. In 1994, Tim started teaching at CU as an adjunct and went full-time in 1996. He has served on the Board of Trustees, taught in the Distant Education at CU, taught in Egypt, and in Bangladesh.

Dr. White blogs at drtimwhite.com and posts about ministry, leadership, and preaching. Dr. White married Becky Bender in 1978. Becky has mothered their two sons, taught school, tutored, and presently helps Tim in planting Open Door Baptist Church.
