About
Dr. Slater earned his Doctorate in Business Administration (Accounting) (2021) and Masters in Accountancy (2013) from Gardner-Webb University. He also holds Masters (2010) and Bachelor’s (2008) degrees in Business Administration from High Point University. In addition, Dr. Slater is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a member in good standing with the Institute of Management Accountants.
Dr. Slater serves as adjunct faculty in the Patterson School of Business. His research interests focus on accounting standards codifications related to leasing and liquidity for large, publicly-traded entities both in and outside of the United States. He is also a member in good standing of the Institute of Management Accountants, serves on the advisory board of the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union, and owns/runs a management consulting firm.
