Dr. Charles Petitt was inaugurated as the President of Carolina University in November 2002. His valuable leadership has allowed the school to grow and prosper at a time when other schools have struggled and even closed. Under his leadership the campus has been renovated and upgraded, several new schools have been created inside Carolina University and growth has continued.
Dr. Petitt’s strong initiative has afforded Carolina University the opportunity to witness the accreditation of two international branch campuses, the launch of new undergraduate and graduate degree programs, the implementation of a Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies in Spanish, and the successful launch of Carolina University's Chaplaincy and PhD programs. An articulation agreement with High Point University was created, which allows Carolina University education majors to earn North Carolina State Teacher Licensure in five years. The online school has received recognition and was named #2 in North Carolina and # 4 in the nation and #5 for Best small colleges in the nation.
Petitt has consistently demonstrated a desire to help small Bible Colleges and has even merged with several schools that were closing, offering a place for current students and a home for Alumni as well as student records. This includes Spurgeon Baptist Bible College , Atlantic Bible College and Tennessee Temple University.
Dr. Petitt is a visionary with motivation and energy to accomplish what is needed for the furtherance of the Gospel. He is a gifted speaker who has preached in numerous universities, colleges, schools and churches across America and on five continents. He has also been the keynote speaker for various national and international conferences and conventions.
