About

Dr. Sherita Outsey is originally from Dallas, Texas. Dr. Outsey, recently concluded a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. In her final role at the Pentagon, she served as the Executive Director of Airport Management, Training and Talent, leading a team of 1,500 airport professionals. Her military career showcases extensive leadership expertise in airport planning and design, talent management, and curriculum development. Dr. Outsey also excelled in developing career roadmaps and training curricula, as well as recruiting, onboard, compliance and training strategies to enhance employee relations.

In 2024, Dr. Outsey earned her Doctorate in Psychology with an Emphasis in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Grand Canyon University. Her dissertation examined diversity management practices and their impact on workgroup inclusion among African American servicewomen. As a veteran, her research remains focused on advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices among servicewomen, and she actively collaborates with agencies as a DEI expert to promote workplace inclusion.

Dr. Outsey presently serves as a content expert on subjects pertaining to diversity and inclusion, workplace inclusivity, organizational commitment, belongingness, uniqueness, and the experiences of servicewomen in the Armed Forces at Grand Canyon University. Furthermore, she holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Dr. Outsey is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring at the collegiate level, with a strong dedication to helping learners achieve their educational aspirations.
