Maglio, Dr. Jeffrey V.
About
Dr. Jeff Maglio was a public school educator for 30 years. His expertise is in elementary education and
school administration. He has experience as a special education teacher, regular education teacher,
assistant principal, principal, and director. His administrative tenure spans diverse educational settings,
including schools in both urban and rural school districts. Before retiring in 2025, he was a Director of
Student Services & Accountability. In this position, he supervised social workers, school counselors,
school nurses, and school mental health clinicians. He was also responsible for managing the district’s
safety department and student information systems, as well as implementing the testing and
accountability program.
Dr. Maglio served in the Army for 33 years on both active duty and in the reserves. He started his
military career as an enlisted soldier working as an emergency medical. After graduating from East
Carolina University, he served on active duty as an armor officer before transitioning to the Army
Reserves. He served in various command and staff positions and taught graduate school at Ft. Bragg for
the Command and General Staff College. He retired in 2022 with the rank of colonel.
Dr. Maglio’s doctoral research focused on effectively implementing social-emotional learning (SEL). His
research agenda focuses on student mental health, using social-emotional learning in schools, principal
leadership, and teacher development.
