About

Dr. Maya Lynum-Walker is originally from Detroit, MI, but currently resides in Kentucky. She is a Manager of Residency Programs, providing leadership while overseeing resident wellness and success. Dr. Lynum-Walker is passionate about Higher Education and helping students achieve academic and personal success through mentorship while building future leaders. 

In 2022, Dr. Lynum-Walker graduated from the University of the Cumberlands with a PhD in Leadership with an emphasis in Student Personnel. Dr. Lynum-Walker’s dissertation focused on the impact of Mentorship, Ethnicity, and Leadership styles among Women Leaders in Higher Education. 

Dr. Lynum-Walker was recently hired to serve as an adjunct professor in leadership at Carolina University and looks forward to helping learners find their passion in their doctoral journey to apply within their respective areas of expertise.
