About

Mr. Lucero has worked in federal law enforcement for over 20 years.  As an FBI Special Agent, Mr. Lucero investigated and supported the prosecution of public corruption, civil rights, complex financial crimes, crimes against children and healthcare fraud. Mr. Lucero performed investigations, collected evidence, interviewed and interrogated subjects, documented case activity, coordinated with prosecutors, and testified in court proceedings to secure convictions. 
Mr. Lucero also served as a Team Leader, and then the Senior Team Leader, of the FBI Evidence Response Team (ERT).  Mr. Lucero was a Team Leader on the ERT search at the Boston Bombing investigation, officer ambush investigation in Florence, South Carolina, and international terrorist investigation in New Bern, North Carolina.  Mr. Lucero led the processing of over 100 crime scenes involving homicides, shootings and specialized forensic techniques.  Mr. Lucero testified in numerous federal and state court cases, regarding investigations, interviews and crime scene collection and analysis. 

Mr. Lucero has taught crime scene investigation courses for state and local law enforcement partners, at the FBI Laboratory and at the FBI Academy.  Mr. Lucero has also taught crime scene investigation techniques at the International Law Enforcement Academies in San Salvador, El Salvador, in Budapest, Hungary, and in Gaborone, Botswana.  Mr. Lucero has taught as an online adjunct professor for Lindsey Wilson College and as an in-person guest lecturer at Pfeiffer University and Central Piedmont Community College.

Prior to his law enforcement career, Mr. Lucero spent 11 years as an Environmental Engineer with the United States Environmental Protection Agency in the regional offices in Philadelphia and Atlanta.
