About

Chelsea Stowe Curtis is an English educator from Southwest Virginia. She earned an MA in English from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC, and a BS in English (with an endorsement in secondary education) from Radford University in Radford, VA. She teaches courses on Composition, British Literature, and Technical Writing. Her teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in place-based pedagogy with an emphasis on experiential literacy and Appalachian literature.

Her research has been published in the Virginia English Journal. In 2023, she was honored with the "Teacher of Excellence" award from the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).
