Herbert C. Crump Jr. is the retired, founding Pastor of Freedom Temple Ministries Inc. and President (emeritus) of Freedom Montessori School located in Rock Hill, SC. He also served as the past Presiding Prelate (Senior Bishop) of the Mount Calvary Holy Church of America Inc. where he managed over 100 churches throughout 17 states and 5 Countries.

He earned his Master's Degree in Political and Civic Engagement from Winthrop University, his Bachelor's Degree with a dual concentration in Religion and History from Livingstone College, an Associates Degree in Religious Studies from Clinton College and earned his High School Equivalency (GED) Diploma from Glenmont Job Corps in Albany, NY.

He has a certificate in Non-Profit Business Management from the College of Business Administration at Winthrop University, and a Leadership Certificate in Fundraising and Philanthropy from the Lilly School of Philanthropy at Indiana University.  He is a trained Accreditation Evaluator and completed The Business Office 360 Certificate Training Program for The Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS).

He currently serves as a contractual HBCU Engagement Coordinator for the Association of Business Administrators of Christian Colleges (ABACC) and the Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Carolina University in Winston Salem, NC.

He is a Life Member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., where he currently serves as Chaplain in the Kappa Alpha Chapter. He became the first African American member of the Rock Hill, SC Chapter of Kiwanis Club International. He has also served as a Department of Juvenile Justice Auxiliary Probation Officer in York County, SC.

Although he has received numerous awards and recognition for leadership and community service, his greatest blessing is being the proud father of his son Joshua Crump and daughter Jenesis Crump.
