Cox, Dr. Toney
About
Dr. Toney Cox was born and raised in Huntington, WV. In 2000, he received Jesus Christ as Savior and answered the call into vocational ministry, which has proven to be a life-defining decision. Ministry, leadership, teaching, evangelism, and church revitalization are passions that drive his life and mission. In 2013, he became an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN). Dr. Cox has served as a practitioner in the field of pastoral leadership for nearly 20 years, having led three churches into revitalization and church health from the office of Lead Pastor. Dr. Cox is the Lead Pastor of Lexington Road Church located in Kentucky.
In addition to his full-time pastoral service responsibilities, Dr. Cox partners with the Church of God in Pakistan, preaching the Gospel and reaching multitudes through media evangelism. His ministry is intentionally multicultural. Additionally, he follows his heart, serving as an author of books and articles, and he appears weekly on the TCT Television Network as a pastoral panelist on the professionally produced show called “Ask The Pastor.”
Lastly, Dr. Cox has a heart and passion for academic excellence and student development. In 2022, Dr. Cox was awarded the Distinguished Online Alumnus of the Year for Lee University. In 2024, he graduated with High Distinction from Liberty University with a Ph.D. Dr. Cox offers passion and commitment to assist in student development and academic perseverance with practical experience teaching and assisting in the development of teams, students, leadership structures, and disciples from the pastoral field. Dr. Cox joins the faculty as an Adjunct Dissertation Chair to lead in assisting and developing students in the rigors of the doctoral candidate process.
