About

My educational background includes a PhD from Capella University in Organizational Management, an MA in Healthcare Administration from Ashford University, an MBA in Management from the University of Cincinnati, and an MS in Global Business Blockchain from the University of the Cumberlands. In addition, I have a BA in Mathematics from Kenyon College. My time at Capella was spent entirely online, so I am very familiar with the time commitment and other issues associated with completing a degree online. It is not easy, but it is gratifying.

I have been teaching online for 20 years now. Courses I have taught include Economics, Management, Organizational Behavior, Research Methodology, and Statistics. I have been fortunate to have been asked to be a guest lecturer at numerous international universities, including Vietnam, Romania, China, Argentina, Mexico, and Spain. My professional background includes some time in the insurance industry and a position as a project manager for a major ERP software implementation. I also own a small self-storage business just outside of Cincinnati.

Professionally, I am a board member of two organizations, and I conduct presentations on various topics and write course curricula. My research interests include writing about social media. My most recently published article is The Influence of Social Media on 21st Century Leaders

My home life is somewhat unique. Our family includes six children from 3 continents. We have our older son and older daughter. Then, in 2011, we added two girls from Russia, ages 15 and 14. And then, four years later, we added two little boys from Africa (ages now 13 and 11).

In my free time, I stay active by playing soccer for exercise and singing in a barbershop chorus and barbershop quartet. All the activities keep me out of trouble... most of the time :)
