Carolina University Mourns the Passing of Dr. Donald K. Drake

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Carolina University, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Donald K. Drake at his homegoing.

We are thankful for Dr. Drake’s faithful service as president of Carolina University, then Piedmont Bible College, from 1970 to 1987.

Dr. Drake will be remembered for his passion for missions. He believed, and instilled in us the belief, that every person on earth should have the opportunity to hear the good news of the Gospel, whether living next door or in a remote part of the jungle. Under his leadership, the missionary aviation program was established to help carry the Gospel farther.

Many who serve today, and many who served in the past, were challenged and encouraged to pursue missions under his leadership. His legacy will live on.
