About

Di Qing is the Director of Financial Planning at Carolina University’s Patterson School of Business. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University in May 2022. He served as a Research Assistant during the Ph.D. program. The research interests include financial planning, education planning, human capital, behavior economics, financial literacy, retirement planning, and racial differences. His dissertation estimates the financial aid for college students utilizing fixed-effect, recursive, and multivariant methods. The statistical skills include STATA, MATLAB, and R.

Di Qing had the experience of working as a graduate assistant and teaching assistant at Eastern New Mexico University from 2015 to 2016 and was awarded 1st place recognition for an outstanding poster presented at the Annual Student Research Conference. He is originally from Chengdu, China, which is the hometown of Panda. Before enrolling at Eastern New Mexico University in 2013, he enrolled at Sichuan University (Top 10 University in China) in Finance (Bilingual).

As an international student in the U.S. for about nine years, he has a solid foundation in research and a strong background in economics and financial planning. He is willing to suggest and provide help for students, such as planning ahead for career fairs, learning processes, mock interviews, adjusting resumes, etc.
