Lamei, Dr. Lena
Lena Lamei is an Assistant Professor of Business and Leadership at Carolina University. Her doctorate in educational leadership is focused on online learning, self-directed learning, self-efficacy, and students' academic performance. Lena’s research interest areas are in executive functions, cognitive overload, burnout, multiculturalism, and gendered communication, business, and leadership. Her teaching interest areas are in psychology and language of leadership, business communication, theories and controversies in leadership, women in leadership and business, and multicultural leadership.
Lena's professional and educational backgrounds in communications, marketing, business, and educational leadership are valuable assets and contributions to leadership and business programs at Carolina University. Lena has the experience of working as a journalist, academic advisor, instructor, and a marketing and business development manager. Also, before moving to the U.S. in 2009, she managed and co-owned her private school of Computer and Language in her home country. Lena has 15 years of teaching experience in different levels from Kindergarten to University, and has taught courses such as communication skills, the art of persuasion, English as a foreign language, and psychology of teaching and assessments. In addition, Lena has been actively involved in different community services such as film festivals, International Students Union, Red Cross, and Cultural Ambassadors. Lena has also performed as the women’s rights spokesperson and PR of international student association.
Lena is married and she is a happy mother of a four- year-old son, Ryan Cyrus. In her free time, she enjoys travelling, camping, movies, and writing.
