Hinterplattner, Dr. Melanie
Dr. Melanie Hinterplattner’s research focuses on the study of supply chain risk and resilience with a special emphasis on understanding how individuals as well as organizations cope with supply chain disruptions. Her research has received the Best Academic Theory Poster Award at CSCMP Academic Research Symposium 2018 and the Best Paper Award: PhD Student Paper Competition at SE-DSI 2019. Moreover, she has been nominated to be a member of the Journal of Supply Chain Management’s junior editorial review board. In addition, Melanie has received the Averitt Award for Excellence in Graduate Instruction 2020. She has developed new courses and taught in the US, Europe and Asia in English and German. Melanie is supervising student case competitions and co-organizing the yearly international SCM summer school together with National University of Singapore - hosted by the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. She has acquired and conducted several national and international empirical research projects. Before Melanie started her academic career, she worked as a Supply Chain Manager as well as a Project and Process Manager in the retail industry.
